DR. MARISA MANZANO

I graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona in 1994, and in 1995 I obtained the title of Specialist in Community Medicine by the EEC.

I entered the MIR training period in the specialty of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the University Hospital of Getafe where I spent 5 years, obtaining the Specialist Title in 2000.

During those years I treated mostly burn patients, and various pathologies such as skin cancers, breast cancer, hand surgery, and reconstructions of various areas of the body. I also completed the doctoral courses at the Department of Surgical Dermatology at the University of Madrid and the postgraduate course in Nutrition, Dietetics and Diet Therapy at the University of Navarra.

Later I returned to Barcelona where I started my care activity at the Hospital de Martorell until 2007. At that time I started working at SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital. Today I continue my public care activity in this hospital, where I mainly treat pediatric plastic surgery pathology and adolescents with breast pathology, perform skin surgery and collaborate with gynecologists and pediatric surgeons in those procedures that require knowledge of reconstructive surgery.

I am also a consultant of the specialty for Agrupació Mútua in its two centers in Barcelona.
