Recovery from an upper lip lift varies between 5 and 7 days before looking closer to the end. There is usually moderate swelling for the first 72 hours, which can be controlled with cold compresses on the upper lip. Pain is controlled with low doses of medication.
The sutures are usually removed 5 days after the intervention. There is normally some degree of what is called wound eversion, where the incision appears raised slightly like a ridge.
